There’s not been an official update out of Lincoln on the statuses of Adrian Martinez and JD Spielman for Saturday’s game against Minnesota, but the two were reportedly in full pads on Wednesday during Nebraska’s practice.
Sam McKewon of the Omaha World-Herald reported that both Martinez and Spielman were spotted in full pads and apparently practiced on Wednesday. Both players left Saturday’s game against Northwestern with injury.
Earlier this week, backup quarterback Noah Vedral was taking first-team reps in preparation for the road game against Minnesota. While there’s still nothing official, both players back in full pads has to be a good sign for the Huskers.
Both Adrian Martinez and JD Spielman were in pads today and presumably practicing. #huskers

Spielman is Nebraska’s top receiver, totaling 21 receptions for 410 yards and a touchdown through the first six games of the year. He’s also returned nine punts for 91 yards and a touchdown.
Martinez has accounted for nearly 1,600 yards of total offense halfway through the season, and has accounted for 10 total touchdowns.
Both players obviously have a huge impact on the offensive side of the football, so having them back would be a huge boost for the Huskers. But a decision on their statuses may not come until later in the week, possibly even game day.
Nebraska and Minnesota will kick things off at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at TCF Bank Stadium.
