Adrian Martinez returns to Nebraska for internship with Huskers
Adrian Martinez produced a 4-year career at Nebraska. After wrapping up the 2021 season, he transferred to Kansas State for one final year before attempting to land in the NFL.
Martinez did play for the Detroit Lions in the preseason and throughout training camp, but he did not make the opening-day roster. Now, he’s back in Lincoln for a job with the Huskers, the former QB and AD Trev Alberts confirmed on Monday.
“Great to have Adrian back in the office,” Alberts wrote in a post on social media. “Doing an internship with our business office! GBR.”

During his playing days, Martinez finished his time as a Husker with over 8,491 passing yards with 45 touchdowns. He also rushed for 2,301 yards and 35 touchdowns. Martinez left the program as Nebraska’s all-time leader in total offense (10,792 yards) and is second on the all-time list for passing yards and passing touchdowns.
It will be interesting to see where this internship takes Martinez, but it’s nice to see a program legend return to Lincoln for more time with the Huskers.
