A year in which Nebraska was expected to be a challenger in the B1G West is starting to really unravel. On Saturday, the Huskers dropped a 38-31 contest to Indiana in Lincoln, marking the third loss in the last four games.

Now, Nebraska sits at 4-4 on the season and is 2-3 in B1G play, falling to Ohio State, Minnesota and Indiana. And after the latest loss to the Hoosiers, head coach Scott Frost wasn’t too happy in the postgame interview.

Frost pointed to not having enough guys on the team who are “tough and dedicated” right now. He did acknowledge there are some guys who fit that identity, but there just aren’t enough of them at the moment.

Frost also told reporters after the game that he was hard on his players during the game because he wanted to “get a lot out of them.”

Nebraska started the game hot, jumping out to a 14-3 lead in the first half. But a critical turnover with a 14-9 advantage allowed Indiana to take a 16-14 lead on the following possession and, from that point, is was a back-and-forth game the rest of the day.

Frost also said that he needs to do a better job recruiting players who are capable of generating a pass-rush and told his players that “Just OK” isn’t good enough at Nebraska.

It was a pretty straight forward presser.

With four games left on the schedule, Nebraska still has a great opportunity to make a bowl game this season. Even though it’s not a division title, it’s still an improvement from last year. That’s important for the growth of the program.

Next Saturday, Nebraska travels to Purdue.
