Anthony Grant was a man on a mission in Nebraska’s Week 1 game against North Dakota, leading the Huskers in their first win of the season.

In the win, Grant carried the ball 23 times for 189 yards and 2 touchdowns. Grant’s biggest run came on a 46-yard touchdown in the second half while averaging 8.2 yards per carry.

On Monday, Grant was officially named as a Co-Offensive Player of the Week from the B1G for all the Week 1 action. Penn State QB Sean Clifford was the other player honored.

Grant’s Player of the Week honor also snaps a rather disappointing streak for Nebraska. He becomes the first Husker to capture the conference’s Offensive Player of the Week award since 2018, a stretch of three-plus seasons of football under head coach Scott Frost.

Devine Ozigbo was the most recent Nebraska player to win the award, taking home the honor after 198 total yards of offense and 3 touchdowns against Illinois.

Grant is off to quite a roll to start the 2022 season, eclipsing 100 yards in the first two games for Nebraska. We’ll see if he can keep it up entering Week 2.
