A Lincoln native has decided to return home.

Former Arizona State tight end Jared Bubak announced on Twitter that he will be leaving the Sun Devils football program and transferring to Nebraska. He joins the Huskers after spending four years at Arizona State. He will be a graduate transfer and will be immediately eligible for the 2020 season.

Bubak will also be a walk-on at Nebraska. He has one year of eligibility remaining at the college level.

“After speaking with the coaching staff, I have decided to finish my last year of eligibility with the University of Nebraska as a walk-on,” Bubak wrote on Twitter. “This transfer portal process has solidified how important the state of Nebraska is to me and my family.  The chance to come back home and play for Coach [Scott] Frost was an easy decision for me and I’m excited to represent the people of Nebraska.”

Bubak played in 17 career games over the last two seasons at Arizona State. He joins a Nebraska squad that finished the 2019 season with a 5-7 record.
