There may not be a team in college football that people are more excited to see than Nebraska this fall. There’s a certain curiosity about whether or not Scott Frost can have the Huskers competing for a B1G title in just his second season in Lincoln.

According to Athlon Sports, the Huskers have an excellent shot at claiming a conference crown in 2019.

Recently, Athlon Sports released its B1G predictions for the 2019 season, and had some bold takes for Nebraska this fall. The publication has Scott Frost’s team winning the West Division and making an appearance in B1G Championship Game this fall, finishing the regular season with a  9-3 mark and a 6-3 record in conference play.

Athlon Sports has the Huskers losing to Michigan in the title game.

But the B1G Championship Game appearance wasn’t the only bold prediction for the Huskers. Athlon Sports also believes Frost will be named the B1G Coach of the Year and incoming running back Wan’Dale Robinson will earn Freshman of the Year honors.

Despite a 4-8 season in 2018, the Huskers are considered by many to be a top 25 team entering the fall. Frost’s second season and the return of star quarterback Adrian Martinez are big factors in the hype Nebraska is receiving this offseason.

Nebraska will open up the 2019 season at Memorial Stadium against South Alabama on Saturday, Aug. 31. Kickoff is scheduled for noon ET.
