Benjamin Brahmer, key Nebraska prospect for 2023, flips commitment to Big 12 program

Benjamin Brahmer had been committed to Nebraska since the spring of 2021. Now, the key prospect out of Pierce, Nebraska is heading to a different program.
Early Tuesday morning, the 6-foot-6 tight end flipped his commitment away from Nebraska to Matt Campbell’s program at Iowa State. It is a big loss for the Huskers after new head coach Matt Rhule was unable to retain Brahmer’s pledge.
Pierce (Neb.) HS TE Ben Brahmer, Nebraska’s first commitment in the 2023 class, flipped to Iowa State Tuesday morning after a weekend effort by Matt Rhule to keep him with the Huskers.
It wasn’t enough, underscoring the big task ahead of Rhule and his staff this month.

According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Brahmer is a 3-star prospect and the No. 5 player out of Nebraska for the class of 2023. Brahmer is also rated as a wide receiver by the system and checks in as the No. 92 WR nationally.
