BTN analyst Gerry DiNardo 'backing off' narrative that Nebraska is overrated entering 2019
In Year 1, the Scott Frost era wasn’t that great at Nebraska.
The Huskers went just 4-8 overall.
In Year 1 of the Frost era at UCF, it wasn’t all roses, either. The Golden Knights finished with a 6-7 record. In Year 2, though, UCF went unbeaten. The same may not happen this season at Nebraska with Frost in charge, but expectations are lofty.

Oddsmakers and the media seem to be all over Nebraska. Some think the Huskers could win the Big Ten outright, let alone just the B1G West division.
Earlier this offseason, BTN analyst Gerry DiNardo wasn’t all about the Huskers bandwagon like everybody else. He thought they would be good. Great, though? Maybe not so much.
However, on Monday when the BTN crew was in Lincoln checking out the Nebraska football team, DiNardo may now have a different opinion on the Huskers:
DiNardo says he now has a better understanding of why media picked NU to win its division.
Initially, he said, "I thought it was overrating them. But I'm now backing off that. Now I think they are one of a few teams that could win it." 🏈

DiNardo thought that others were overrating the Huskers. He’s backing off that now.
He didn’t give any specifics on what Nebraska will end up doing in 2019, but he does know that it could end up winning the B1G West. If the Huskers do that, then they will be just one win away from a Big Ten title.
