Casey Thompson produced for Nebraska on the first drive of the game, leading the offense steadily down the field before unleashing a brilliant deep ball to Isaiah Garcia-Castaneda.

The play covered 75 yards in 8 plays with the offense needing just over 2 minutes to get its first points on the board. More importantly, Thompson had time in the pocket and was 5-for-6 with 68 yards and the touchdown on the drive.

The clincher was a 32-yard perfectly thrown ball to the pylon with Garcia-Castaneda elevating over his defender for a perfect grab. This is exactly what Nebraska fans were hoping to see early out of the offense.

Three transfer players also produced on the drive with Garcia-Castaneda, Marcus Washington and Trey Palmer all recording catches on the opening drive of the season.
