Veterans Day was this past Thursday as we honored the men and women who have fought for the United States of America.

During Saturday’s Week 11 broadcast, ESPN’s College GameDay ran a touching feature of Nebraska OLB Damian Jackson, a former Navy Seal. You can watch the full feature video from College GameDay below:

As a Navy SEAL, Nebraska LB Damian Jackson learned to persist and overcome.

It’s those traits that got him to where he is today, leading the Cornhuskers onto the field on game days 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/CaqJgSJWSo

The video went through Jackson’s life from being a troublemaker to the Navy Seals and how it led to being a scholarship player at the University of Nebraska. Jackson led the team out onto the field during the 20th anniversary of 9/11, carrying the American flag.

Jackson has played sparingly for the Huskers this season. He has 4 total tackles on the season. His impact on the Huskers team is more than just his play on the field.

Jackson is one of the many heroes that sacrifice a lot for America’s freedom, and playing football was just another challenge he was able to overcome.

Nebraska is idle this week.
