Dylan Raiola receives major endorsement from Patrick Mahomes
Dylan Raiola has received plenty of comparisons between Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes with Nebraska’s new starting quarterback emulating the star’s game. Mahomes was recently asked about Raiola’s emulation in a meeting with the media.
“It’s cool, honestly. I was that guy, grew up watching players,” Mahomes said. “I loved A-Rod, played SS, would try to make plays just like him. It helped me become the athlete that I am. It’s just telling me I’m getting a little old.”
He was complimentary of what Raiola brings to the table from a tangible and an intangible perspective. Though still early, Raiola has had immense success through the first two games of the season.
“I don’t know if whenever you come in as a freshman, you want to be on Twitter… I think he wants it to be about his team,” Mahomes said. “I think that’s the right way to play the quarterback position is that it’s not about you; it’s about going out there and having success as a team. They’ve done that so far this year.”

He also clarified that he and his look-alike have a standing relationship.
“I know Dylan. I train with him in the offseason,” Mahomes said. “He’s a great kid, a great football player, and I think he’s gonna make his own stamp on the game. I think you’ve seen that early in his career.”
Raiola has completed 73.7% of his passing attempts (42-of-57) for 423 yards with 3 touchdowns and zero interceptions this season and will look to keep the ball rolling moving forward.
