Dylan Raiola was injured late in Nebraska’s loss to UCLA. Fortunately, it does not appear that the ailment should plague him much as we move forward.

At his weekly press conference, head coach Matt Rhule said Raiola endured a contusion and spasms to his back. While the outlook for Nebraska’s starting quarterback would be dicey for this week, Rhule expects he will be able to go coming off a Week 11 bye.

“(He) had a contusion to his back and to his spine, a little spasming. He would probably be questionable for this week if we were playing. He should be available for next week,” said Rhule.

Rhule’s update is in line with a Monday report from ESPN’s Pete Thamel, who reported that scans on Raiola’s back were clear. All expectations currently point to Raiola returning healthy when Nebraska faces USC on Nov. 16.

Raiola has experienced all the highs and lows of college football this season, but that is to be expected for a true freshman QB in the B1G. The young QB has thrown an interception in 4 straight games with 1-to-6 TD-to-interception ratio.
