Nebraska Athletic Director Shawn Eichorst made a hire that caused many in the college football world to scratch their heads. Firing nine-win lock Bo Pelini and paying him over $6 million not to coach and bringing in Mike Riley from Oregon State confused many at time.

Those same people are still likely wondering what he was thinking.

Nebraska has six losses before November for the first time in program history after falling to one-win Purdue on Saturday. Naturally, Riley caught some serious heat.

On Monday, Eichorst thanked the fans that hold the nation’s longest sellout streak for their “patience and support.”

Some Nebraska fans have already publicly shared the lack of value their future tickets have. That certainly isn’t the universal feeling, but it’ll be interesting to see if the sellout streak can survive 2015.
