A highly-touted Nebraska recruit is one step closer to joining the Cornhuskers this season, according to a social media post on August 1.

On Wednesday, 4-star running back Maurice Washington tweeted  out a photo of his admission letter to the University of Nebraska. The talented prospect had to take care of some things academically before he could be accepted to the school.

This is huge news for the Huskers, considering the skill-set Washington brings to the table.

Washington will still have to go through the NCAA clearinghouse to be considered eligible for the 2018 season. And even then, coming to the party so late, head coach Scott Frost may still decide to have the talented ball-carrier sit out for a year.

Either way, getting Washington acquainted with the team as soon as possible would be a big step for Nebraska.

As a member of the 2018 recruiting class, Washington was the No. 10 running back and a Top 300 prospect, according to 247Sports. The Texas native was also one of the top 30 players in his home state.
