Emmett Johnson puts Purdue to bed with 28-yard rushing TD
Emmett Johnson just put Purdue to bed.
The Huskers running back rushed for a 28-yard touchdown late during Week 9’s matchup against the Boilermakers. It was all Nebraska early, with the Huskers leading 24-0 at the start of the 4t quarter.
However, a pair of Purdue touchdowns made things interesting late. However, an extended Nebraska drive finished with Johnson weaving in and out of defenders for 6.

Johnson has had a strong day for Nebraska, but that was his best run of the afternoon. He’s up to 76 rushing yards on 13 carries for 1 touchdown.
His confidence is a major point of interest moving forward for Nebraska. The young running back scored his first TD of the season on the above rush, entering Saturday’s contest with just 23 carries for 123 yards to his name.
Nebraska is 5-3 on the season and just 1 win away from bowl eligibility following a 31-14 win over the Boilers.
