Nebraska is a healthy favorite vs. Northwestern in Lincoln on Saturday.

Both the Huskers and Wildcats have been somewhat inconsistent to start the year, but Nebraska has shown considerably more upside. Nebraska has been highly competitive in back-to-back road losses to Oklahoma and Michigan State.

According to ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI), Nebraska has a 79 percent chance of pulling out the win on Saturday.

The Huskers are also favored in Vegas. They opened as 10-point favorites over Northwestern in this matchup, according to DraftKings.

The Wildcats appear to be settling into a rebuilding year after winning the Big Ten West in 2020. They’ve been tasked with replacing quarterback Peyton Ramsey, defensive back Greg Newsome and several more impact players.

Nebraska is looking to get into the win column for the first time since Sept. 11 against Buffalo. Quarterback Adrian Martinez has been playing well this season, completing 66.9 percent of his passes for 1,265 yards, 5 touchdowns and 2 interceptions in 5 games.

Nebraska is 8-6 all-time against Northwestern. However, the Wildcats have won three of the last four meetings in this series.

Kick off is at 6:30 p.m. CT on Saturday.
