Nebraska is tired of serving as a farm system to Oregon State. And, for at least one ex-Husker, Corvallis will not be in the mix of potential transfer destinations.

On Monday, Nebraska running back Greg Bell confirmed his decision to leave the program and will explore other opportunities. Bell made the statement on Twitter and attached an image of his official release.

That document contained some interesting information.

On the release, Nebraska provided a list of programs Bell is barred from furthering his football career. The list includes all B1G schools and opponents the Huskers have scheduled over the next few years.

The one interesting school mentioned on the list is Oregon State.

Corvallis has been a popular landing spot for ex-Huskers recently. Three former Nebraska players — QB Tristan Gebbia, LB Avery Roberts, WR Tyjon Lindsey — have committed to play for the Beavers after leaving Lincoln.

Ex-Nebraska head coach Mike Riley, who was fired at the conclusion of the 2017 season, was hired as an assistant coach at Oregon State, probably a good reason why so many former Huskers are landing in Corvallis.

But, like it or not, Bell won’t have the option to join his former teammates at Oregon State. It’ll be interesting to see if Nebraska places that restriction on any other future players that may decide to transfer.

Bell played in all five games for the Huskers this season. He took 35 carries for 173 yards. Bell also caught four passes for 14 yards.
