A former Nebraska offensive lineman is heading to the FCS level to continue his career on the field.

Monday, former Nebraska walk-on A.J. Forbes announced on Twitter that he will be transferring to Montana to continue his playing career. Forbes walked on to the Huskers football program during the 2018 season and spent two years with the team before deciding to transfer.

Forbes is a native of Bellevue, Nebraska and did not appear in any games for the Huskers during his two seasons. He will have three seasons of eligibility remaining at Montana and will be immediately eligible since he is a non-scholarship transfer and will be playing at the FCS level.

This offseason, Nebraska has seen three former walk-on offensive lineman decide to leave the program. Forbes is the second to find a home, joining Xavier Trevino who recently committed to North Dakota, also an FCS program.

Josh Wegener, the third offensive lineman, has not announced a new destination yet.
