On Tuesday, former Nebraska defensive coordinator Carl Pelini turned himself in to Ohio police after a warrant was issued for his arrest for an alleged domestic violence incident.

The current coach of Cardinal Mooney High School in Youngstown, Ohio, he has been accused of domestic violence, and according to WKBN-TV he has entered a not guilty plea.

The alleged incident occurred early Sunday morning between Pelni and his wife. According to the station, a call from his daughter was placed to Boardman Police indicating her mother was bleeding and had a black eye. Officers responding to the scene indicated the woman was “highly intoxicated” and that she said an argument between her and her husband had resulted in him hitting her.

Reports are that Pelini has been instructed to stay away from the alleged victim.

The 56-year old Pelini was an assistant at Cardinal Mooney in the late 1980’s before bouncing back and forth between college and high school assignments. His stint in Lincoln as the Huskers DC ran from 2008-2011, before he moved to the head coaching spot at Florida Atlantic in 2012 and 2013.
