Former Cornhuskers defensive back Lamar Jackson has reportedly been cut by the New York Jets.

It was reported by Rich Cimini of ESPN on Monday evening as the Jets are finalizing their 53-man roster for this season.

Jackson appeared in 13 games last season with the Jets and even started in 6 of them. He recorded no interceptions but had 2 passes defended along with 28 total tackles (26 solo).

Before he was signed by the Jets as an undrafted free agent, he played 4 years at Nebraska (2016-2019) and had 5 career interceptions. His best individual season came during his senior year when Jackson finished with 40 total tackles (30 solo) with 3 interceptions and a fumble recovery.

His full stats over his 4 seasons come out to 123 total tackles (92 solo), 22 passes defended, plus the 5 interceptions touched on earlier.

It’s likely he’ll still be in the NFL for this season as he’d be good depth on any team that brings him in.
