Former Nebraska wide receiver Will Nixon has found a new home.

On Wednesday, the ex-Husker announced his commitment to Washington with a social media post. The former 3-star prospect spent two years at Nebraska before entering his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

Nixon was a member of Nebraska’s 2020 recruiting class but was unable to play in his first year in Lincoln because of injury. Last fall, he appeared in 3 games and caught 1 pass for 5 yards.

Nixon entered the NCAA transfer portal before the start of Nebraska’s spring practice. By utilizing a redshirt last season and with the NCAA’s COVID-19 waiver from 2020, the receiver will have all four years of eligibility to use.

As a recruit, Nixon was ranked just outside the Top 100 wide receiver prospects in the 2020 class. He was considered a Top 100 player from the state of Texas.

Nixon is joining a Washington team that has undergone a coaching change. Former Indiana offensive coordinator and Fresno State head coach Kalen DeBoer was named the next leader of the Huskies for the 2022 season.
