The younger brother of a Nebraska defensive lineman has decided to join the team as a walk-on.

Friday, wide receiver Truitt Robinson announced that he will be committing to the Huskers as a walk-on player next fall. He is the brother of current Nebraska defensive lineman Ty Robinson. Truitt made his announcement official with a post on Twitter.

“Thank you to my teammates and coaches throughout the years pushing me to become better as a player and person. Big thank you to Elev8 sports academy, this would not be possible without them,” Truitt wrote. “With that being sai, I will be spending the next few years on PWO at the University of Nebraska.”

In his senior season at the high school level, Truitt totaled 534 yards and 10 touchdowns on 45 receptions. He was a two-way player at that level, also playing safety on the defensive side of the football.

Ty played in all eight of Nebraska’s games during the 2020 season, collecting 17 stops and 2 tackles for loss. He played in three games as a freshman in 2019.
