Larry Frost, a former Nebraska football player ad the father of current head coach Scott Frost, has died. Steve Frost, Scott’s older brother, posted the news on his Facebook account, according to the Omaha World-Herald.

“Today, my good father Larry Frost went home to be with the Good Father and his Son. We love you, Dad,’’ Steve Frost wrote.

Larry Frost was 73.

Larry Frost was a member of the Huskers football team from 1966-69. He was also a very successful high school football coach, compiling an all-time record of  180-52-3.

According to a report from the Omaha World-Herald, Larry Frost had been battling health issues for the past few years, but continued to make trips to Memorial Stadium in Lincoln to watch Scott Frost’s Huskers teams. Scott Frost took over as the head coach of Nebraska prior to the 2018 season.
