Nebraska dropped to 0-1 on the season on Saturday afternoon as the Huskers lost 30-22 to Illinois.
The Illini, who were playing the first game of the Bret Bielema era, capitalized on several major Nebraska mistakes throughout the game.
Those miscues included a safety, a roughing-the-passer penalty that wiped away an interception, a quarterback sneak on first down late in the game and two missed extra points.
Illinois was up by 21 points mid-way through the third quarter. The Huskers were able to grind out a pair of touchdown drives, but the second drive took too long to develop and the third scoring drive never materialized.
The loss brings Scott Frost to an overall record of 12-21 in 3+ seasons as Nebraska’s head coach. The Huskers still have a tough nonconference slate remaining, including a matchup with Oklahoma.
After the game, Huskers fans on Twitter made their opinion clear: It’s time to fire Frost.
Here’s a summary of some of those takes from Nebraska fans:

Will they fire Scott Frost right after the game or wait a few minutes?

Bo Pelini was fired after winning 9 games. Scott Frost just got embarrassed while under investigation from practicing when you weren’t allowed to. Fire his ass before they get back to Lincoln
