Adrian Martinez is heading to the Big 12.

Thursday night, the 4-year starter at Nebraska announced that he will close out his college career at Kansas State. The school was thought to be a strong contender for Martinez’s commitment following his decision to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

Martinez made the announcement with a simple post on Twitter, saying, “Excited for the next chapter!! #GoCats.”

In his 4 years at Nebraska, Martinez was responsible for 8,495 yards through the air, 2,288 yards on the ground and 80 total touchdowns. He’s the Huskers’ all-time leader in total offense and completions for a career.

This season, Martinez racked up 2,867 yards and 14 touchdowns through the air and rushed for an additional 512 yards and 13 touchdowns. Nebraska ended the season 3-9 with a 1-8 mark in B1G play.

Martinez joins a Kansas State program that finished the 2021 season with a 7-5 record and will appear in the Texas Bowl, playing LSU.

Martinez will add a great dual-threat ability to the Wildcats offense for the 2022 season. He will have one year of eligibility remaining to use at K-State.
