Former Nebraska offensive lineman and assistant coach John Garrison has been named the offensive line coach at NC State.

Garrison lands the job after having a decade of experience on the sidelines as an assistant coach, which all started at Nebraska. He most recently served as the offensive line coach and run game coordinator on Lane Kiffin’s staff at Florida Atlantic for the 2018 season.

Prior to his stop at FAU, Garrison served in the same role at UNLV.

Garrison was a member of Nebraska’s staff for seven seasons, filling multiple roles during his time in Lincoln. He began his career as an intern in 2008, occupying that position until 2010. For the 2011 season, he was promoted to assistant offensive line and tight ends coach.

For the 2013 and 2014 seasons, he served as the Huskers’ offensive line coach.

Garrison is also a former Nebraska offensive lineman, playing on Frank Solich’s team from 1999-2002. He was the starting center for the 2001 and 2002 seasons and also was the team’s starting long-snapper in 1999.
