Former Nebraska defensive back Tony Butler will be finishing his college football career in the MAC.

On Tuesday, Butler announced via Twitter that he will be completing his collegiate career at Kent State. He will have one season of eligibility remaining with the Golden Flashes. As a graduate transfer, he will be immediately available to participate in the 2020 season.

Butler made the decision to transfer from Nebraska following the 2019 season after playing in just four games. He recorded one tackle during the Huskers’ 5-7 campaign.

Butler appeared in 27 career games for the Huskers, primarily on special teams. He utilized his redshirt season in 2016 when he arrived on campus. He leaves the program with three career tackles.

Kent State finished last season with a 7-6 record.
