Former Nebraska running back Ajay Allen announced his plans for the 2023 season on Monday. Allen transferred out of the program after one season in Lincoln.

Allen appeared in four games for the Cornhuskers during his first year there. He recorded 190 yards rushing with 3 total touchdowns. Allen will be suiting up for the Miami Hurricanes next season.

Allen was a former 3-star RB from the 2022 class out of Monroe, Louisiana. Mississippi State and TCU were some of the Power 5 offers he had out of high school.

Allen finished second on the team in rushing yards behind Anthony Grant (915) last season.

Miami finished the 2022 season with a 5-7 record under Mario Cristobal. Cristobal joined the program after previously coaching at Oregon from 2018-2021.

The Hurricanes’ leading rusher from a season ago was Henry Parrish Jr. Parrish compiled 617 yards rushing with 4 touchdowns on the ground.

Nebraska went through a coaching change during last season. Scott Frost was fired after losing to Georgia Southern. Mickey Joseph stepped in and coached Nebraska to a 3-6 record as interim HC.

The Cornhuskers will be coached by former Carolina Panthers HC Matt Rhule this upcoming season. Rhule has experience coaching at the college career as a “program builder” with teams like Temple and Baylor.
