A former Nebraska running back has received several angry letters from fans after kneeling during the national anthem two weeks ago.
Ameer Abdullah, who played for the Huskers from 2011-2014, was one of eight members of the Detroit Lions to take a knee during the national anthem a few weeks ago. That prompted some responses from a few irate fans who wanted to let the running back know just how they felt about his decision.
The ex-Husker took a photo of some of those letters and shared them on his Instagram account.

In a caption below one of the letters, Abdullah says he’ll be responding to at least one of the fans.
Signs of unity and national anthem protests have been a hot button issue in the NFL recently and have stirred a lot of controversy. Abdullah’s post proves that some fans are making their anger well-known to players and teams across the league.
This season, Abdullah has rushed for 257 yards and a touchdown on 66 attempts, helping the Lions to a 3-1 record.
