It looks like Ameer Abdullah has found a new home in the NFL.

He visited the Carolina Panthers on Wednesday and the team is expected to sign him, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Abdullah has been with the Minnesota Vikings for the last few seasons but fell out of favor on the depth chart. He played in 6 games this season and only had 7 rushes for 30 yards. Even last season, Abdullah suited up for all 16 games and had just 8 carries for 42 yards.

His best season came with the Detroit Lions in 2015 when he finished with 597 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns on 143 carries. Abdullah’s other 500-yard season came in 2017 when he had 552 yards and 4 touchdowns on 165 carries.

This signing is likely just a depth move but Abdullah will have to be hoping he gets a lot more work with the Panthers than he did with the Vikings.

Carolina will play the New York Giants this Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
