Former Nebraska star cornerback Prince Amukamara has signed a free agent deal with the New Orleans Saints, per multiple reports.

Amukamara’s deal was acknowledged by Nebraska on Monday afternoon:

Amukamara has played nine seasons in the NFL, but didn’t play last season. He’s spent five years with the New York Giants, one with the Jacksonville Jaguars and three with the Chicago Bears.

He was the No. 19 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. He had an excellent career at Nebraska that included accolades such as First Team All-American and Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year.

Amukamara has had a productive NFL career so far. He has 10 interceptions, six forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries in his career.

He was also on the Giants team that defeated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI. He made one tackle in the game.

The Saints open their season with the Packers on Sept. 12.
