It’s been a rough time in Lincoln under Scott Frost.

Even so, the Nebraska higher-ups announced on Monday that Frost would be retained for the 2022 season. The former Huskers quarterback is just 15-27 at this point in his fourth season at the helm of the program, and has yet to post a winning record under his charge.

But the day was not without shakeups, as Frost announced that he was firing offensive coordinator and receivers coach Matt Lubick, offensive line coach and run game coordinator Greg Austin, running backs coach and recruiting coordinator Ryan Held and quarterbacks coach Mario Verduzco.

Current Florida State quarterback, and former Central Florida QB McKinzie Milton came forward with high praise for his former coaches.

Milton was the QB at UCF in 2017 when Frost was head coach for the Knights, prior to his hiring in Lincoln. Vurduzco, Austin and Held were on Frost’s staff there as well.

Nebraska has a bye-week this weekend before visiting No. 20 Wisconsin on Nov. 20. Their season finale will be at home on Nov. 26 against Iowa. No replacements have been named for the open positions as of now.
