Frank Solich will be roaming the sidelines at Ohio for at least a couple more years.

This week, Ohio University announced that it has agreed to a two-year contract extension with Solich, keeping the head coach in Athens through the 2021 season. Solich just completed his 15th season with the Bobcats and became the winningest head coach in MAC history, getting his 112th victory during the 2019 season.

Ohio has also won 75 MAC contests under Solich, second-most in MAC history. He trails only former Central Michigan head coach Herb Deromedi, who recorded 90 conference wins. Assuming Solich fulfills his two-year contract, he will be the longest-tenured coach in MAC history at 17 years.

Under Solich, the Bobcats are 112-81 and have attended 11 bowl games, which includes this year’s Famous Idaho Potato Bowl on Jan. 3. Ohio finished the year with a 6-6 record and will take on Nevada (7-5) in the bowl game.

Prior to taking over at Ohio, Solich coached at Nebraska from 1998-2003 and was 58-19, leading the Huskers to a bowl game all six years.
