Fred Hoiberg provides injury update on key freshman Wilhelm Breidenbach
Nebraska’s depth will take a hit as coach Fred Hoiberg announced freshman forward Wilhelm Breidenbach will be absent for an extended period of time with an undisclosed injury.
The 6-foot-10, 227-pound Breidenbach has been a key piece for the Cornhuskers, averaging 3.7 points and 2.8 rebounds off the bench, with appearances in all 10 contests.
Fred Hoiberg said Wilhelm Breidenbach will be out for “a while.” Breidenbach will meet with a team doctor this afternoon to determine the final diagnosis.

Hoiberg also said Nebraska has a viral infection working through the locker room. Huskers sent multiple players home from practice today. Hoiberg says NU is following all testing protocols

The California native tallied 4 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals in Nebraska’s most recent contest, a 102-67 loss to Michigan on Dec. 7.
Nebraska is 5-5 overall and 13th place in the B1G. The Cornhuskers will take on No. 18 Auburn on Dec. 11 (11:30 a.m. EST/ESPN2).
