Scott Frost is getting a pretty nice addition at the tight end position.

On Tuesday, former Rutgers tight end Travis Vokolek announced via Twitter that he will be transferring to Nebraska. The ex-Scarlet Knight entered his name in the NCAA transfer portal in April.

“Excited to announce that I will be transferring to Nebraska,” Vokolek wrote. He also shared an image of himself in a Huskers uniform.

Vokolek was the top tight end on Rutgers’ roster, but reportedly decided to transfer to be closer to his hometown. The 6-foot-6, 250-pound tight end completed his second season with the Scarlet Knights in 2018.

In his two years at Rutgers, Vokolek appeared in 19 career games. Last season, he played in all 12 contests, totaling 16 receptions for 184 yards and two touchdowns.

The addition of Vokolek is big for Nebraska, but the tight end will have to sit out the 2019 season due to NCAA transfer rules, unless he is granted a waiver for immediate eligibility. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
