Nebraska’s 2021 recruiting class gained a wide receiver on Friday.

Three-star prospect and Kingsland, Georgia native Shawn Hardy gave his verbal commitment to Nebraska, becoming the eighth member of the class. He picked the Huskers over offers from Ohio State, LSU, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, South Carolina, Purdue and West Virginia.

Hardy made his announcement with a post on Twitter.

“I would like to announce that I’ve committed to the University of Nebraska,” Hardy wrote. “I’m so blessed to be in this position because not all kids get to go to college and even a smaller percentage get to play D1 ball.”

Hardy is listed as a 6-foot-3, 190-pound wide receiver who ranks as the No. 55 player from the state of Georgia. He’s also the No. 106 wide receiver in the 2021 recruiting cycle.

As a junior at Camden County High School last season, Hardy totaled 44 receptions for 782 yards and 10 touchdowns. He’s piled up over 1,500 receiving yards and 15 touchdown receptions over the last two seasons at the high school level.

With Hardy’s pledge, Nebraska jumps up to No. 41 in the national recruiting rankings and sits at No. 9 in the B1G.
