Greg McElroy picks transfer QB with chance to have 'most significant' impact on the win-loss total
Greg McElroy went on his ‘Always College Football’ podcast to talk about some of the newer faces at QB around college football. He thinks a certain transfer QB in the B1G has what it takes to make a really big impact.
McElroy thinks that Texas transfer, and now Nebraska QB Casey Thompson will have most significant impact on the win-loss total. Thompson definitely has the experience, playing in 22 games while at Texas. He also stated the last 10 games of the 2021 season for the Longhorns.
“I think Casey Thompson at Nebraska is poised to have the most significant impact on the win-loss totals,” said McElroy. “Partly because of just how close Nebraska was last year. 3-9, but they lost every game by 9 points or less. How many games did they have control of, if not for a mistake that would flip momentum or flip the field?”
Lots of new faces in new places at QB across college football this year.
Could Casey Thompson at Nebraska be one of the best ones? 👀

Many people believe that the Cornhuskers were the best 3-9 team in the country last season. If McElroy’s prediction comes true, Scott Frost could finally break the mold and potentially make a bowl game.
