Here's what Nebraska coach Scott Frost had to say at his Monday press conference
Nebraska head coach Scott Frost admitted after Saturday’s game against Penn State that the 30-23 win was the big not only for himself but the team and the entire state.
That might seem a bit dramatic, but not if you know Nebraska football. There had to be some real depressed Husker fans after the team’s 0-2 start. Getting a win against sputtering Penn State had to feel really good for Frost and Husker fans everywhere.
That game is now a distant memory. On Saturday, Nebraska will face an Illinois squad that also picked up its first win of the season in Week 4.
As the Huskers get ready to host the Illini, Frost held his regularly scheduled Monday press conference.
In 2019, Nebraska just eked out a 42-38 win in Champagne. The Huskers did so with a late rally.

Sounds like Scott Frost might like Lovie Smith as much as the Nebraska coach likes Ryan Day. Interesting to hear what these coaches say (and don't say) about each other, especially in a year like this, as the season progresses.

It appears that the Huskers are young just about everywhere. That includes the offensive line.
Frost said young OLs have done well considering they're freshmen. Also mentions Trent Hixson/Boe Wilson could play "at any time."

One other young facet of Nebraska is new starting quarterback Luke McCaffrey. He made his first start against Penn State and helped the Huskers get out to a 23-0 lead against Penn State. It appears the job is now McCaffrey’s.

Scott Frost says nothing has changed with quarterbacks Luke McCaffrey and Adrian Martinez. They’ll continue to compete weekly for the job. “Luke’s energy is infectious,” Frost said. “His competitive energy is infectious.” Martinez, too, practiced well last week, the coach said.

Oliver Martin is now eligible and can compete for some time. He suited up Saturday. About Omar Manning, the problem has been getting him healthy, Frost said.
