Nebraska ventured down into SEC territory to land its most recent commitment in the 2021 recruiting class.

On Tuesday, the Huskers received a verbal pledge from three-star running back Gabe Ervin, who made his announcement live on Rivals.com. The Buford, Georgia native is listed as a 6-foot, 200-pound ball carrier who ranks as one of the top 50 players at his position in this class.

Ervin also sent out a statement on Twitter.

Ervin held offers from 16 programs during the recruiting cycle. He chose Nebraska over other major programs like Georgia, Florida State, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and others.

According to 247Sports, Ervin ranks as the No. 49 running back in the 2021 recruiting class. He’s also listed as the No. 66 player out of Georgia and No. 761 nationally.

Nebraska is now up to 10 verbal commitments in the 2021 class. Ervin becomes the second player from Georgia to pledge to the Huskers, joining three-star wide receiver Shawn Hardy out of Kingsland.

The Huskers currently rank 41st nationally and 10th in the B1G with the 2021 recruiting class.
