Nebraska has had an intriguing offense since Scott Frost has come back as head coach. Defensively, it’s been a bit of a different story.
On Tuesday, Nebraska ILBs coach Barrett Ruud talked about the team’s upcoming opponent, Illinois. Illinois may not be a powerhouse, but the Fighting Illini like to run the football under coach Lovie Smith. Reggie Corbin is the team’s top back right now.

Just a week ago, Corbin rushed for 144 yards on 18 carries while scoring a touchdown. What will he do against Nebraska? We have to wait until Saturday to find out, but here’s Ruud on Corbin:
Back from practice. Defensive coaches pleased well enough but focused on the challenge ahead. ILBs coach Barrett Ruud said Illinois RB Reggie Corbin could be the best Nebraska faces all season. High praise. #huskers

Ruud said that Corbin could be the best tailback that Nebraska faces all season long. Really? That’s quite high praise.
Especially considering Nebraska has to play Ohio State and Wisconsin. The Buckeyes’ J.K. Dobbins is truly coming into his own his junior season as the workhorse back in Columbus, while everybody and their mother knows how good Jonathan Taylor is for the Badgers.
Nebraska-Illinois is scheduled for an 8 p.m. start time on Saturday at Illinois. The game will be televised on BTN.
