Nebraska is firmly in the mix for a 4-star quarterback in the 2022 recruiting class.

Wednesday, 6-foot-2, 190-pound quarterback MJ Morris announced on Twitter that he’s still considering Nebraska as a destination, including the program in his Top 3. The Huskers are competing with N.C. State and Georgia Tech for Morris’ pledge.

Morris is a native of Atlanta who received 34 offers on the recruiting front. Major programs to offer the 4-star talent include Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Virginia Tech, among many others.

Also in his post on Twitter, Morris revealed that he’ll be making his commitment announcement on Thursday, June 3. His decision will come just a few days after the NCAA’s recruiting dead period came to an end on June 1.

Per 247Sports, Morris ranks just outside the Top 200 overall players in 2022 class, coming in at No. 206. He’s ranked as the No. 14 quarterback of the cycle and the No. 20 player out of Georgia.

Nebraska has been behind in the 2022 recruiting cycle, landing pledges from just two players in the class thus far. The Huskers rank 13th in the B1G and 66th nationally. That could change on Thursday.
