A Nebraska offensive lineman has decided to leave the football team, citing multiple concussions for his decision.

Wednesday, Evan Bland of the Omaha World-Herald reported that Jalin Barnett was leaving the Huskers because of multiple concussions. Offensive line coach Greg Austin confirmed that Barnett made the decision to step away.

Barnett, a 6-foot-4, 330-pound offensive lineman, played in 11 career games at Nebraska, all of which came in 2016. Though he was a member of the team last season, he didn’t see any playing time.

He was entering the 2018 season as a redshirt junior.

Nebraska’s first game comes on Sept. 1 when it hosts Akron.
