Huskers pick up transfer pledge from ex-Alabama safety, former 4-star prospect
Nebraska continues to add depth and talent to its roster through the NCAA transfer portal. On Sunday, the Huskers picked up a pledge from a former Alabama safety and 4-star prospect.
Kaine Williams, a member of the 2021 recruiting class, announced his transfer to Nebraska on Sunday morning. He entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal after spending just one season in Tuscaloosa with the Crimson Tide.
Williams, a 6-foot-2, 203-pound defensive back, appeared in just 1 game last season. He was able to maintain his redshirt status and will have 4 years of eligibility remaining when he arrives in Lincoln.

Nebraska has been one of the most active teams through the transfer portal since the conclusion of the 2021 season. Williams is the latest addition to the program.
The Huskers have also added quarterback Casey Thompson (Texas), defensive end Ochaun Mathis (TCU), wide receiver Trey Palmer (LSU), defensive lineman Devin Drew (Texas Tech) and several others via the portal this offseason.
