Jeff Sims continues disastrous stretch with 3rd first-half turnover vs. Colorado
Jeff Sims has done some positive things for Nebraska in his first two starts for the program, but that does not make up for some disastrous moments for the quarterback. His turnover-prone tendencies have popped up again in Week 2.
Facing off against Colorado on the road, the Huskers have been up to the task of keeping the high-flying Buffs offense in check. Unfortunately, Sims has turned the ball over twice, one of those turnovers leading directly to a Colorado field goal.
Early in the game, Sims turned the ball over after fumbling a snap. The accuracy of the snap was not the problem as it hit the QB in the hands. While it came on a 3rd-down play, Nebraska would have had a shot at a long field goal trip.
Then, in the second quarter, Sims had another disastrous fumble in a similar situation. The Huskers tried some pre-snap movement in the backfield, but the snap was still on target for the QB.

If not for Sims’ second turnover, the Huskers could still be pitching a shutout. Unfortunately, that turnover came deep in Nebraska territory and led to a field goal by Colorado.
If that’s not bad enough, Sims also threw another interception in his own territory. He has 3 turnovers in the first half with Colorado cashing in a pair of those turnovers for 10 points.
