Jordy Bahl pitches no-hitter as Nebraska softball run-rules Northern Colorado
Jordy Bahl recorded a no-hitter for Nebraska as the Cornhuskers topped Northern Colorado 10-0 in 5 innings to improve to 7-2.
Bahl went the distance, striking out 5 on 69 pitches and walking 2 for the 41st no-hitter in program history.
After going scoreless in the first 2 innings, the Huskers pushed 3 across in the top of the 3rd. After Hannah Camenzind brought in Ava Bredwell with a single and Ava Kuszak’s sac fly scored Bella Bacon, Bahl helped her own cause with a bunt single to score Camenzind.
The Huskers plated 2 more on a 2-run shot from Samantha Bland to stretch their lead to 5-0 in the 4th before Bacon was forced home on a walk to make it 6-0. Bredwell then hit a grand slam in the top of the 5th to make it 10-0 before Bahl finished things off in the bottom of the frame with the run rule in effect.
Nebraska is looking to ride the arm of Bahl to a first Women’s College World Series appearance since 2013. After transferring from Oklahoma — where she won two WCWS titles and was regarded as arguably the best pitcher in softball — her 2024 season was wiped out due to a torn ACL.
In her return to the circle, though, she doesn’t appear to have missed a beat.
