Lavonte David is off to a hot start for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football.

The former Nebraska linebacker has 3 tackles and 1 sack after the 1st quarter. Near the end of the 1st quarter, the Saints were faced with a 3rd-and-5. David shot through the gap and sacked Andy Dalton, forcing a Saints’ punt.

At 32 years old, David is still playing at a high level. David is 2nd on the Bucs in tackles with 78.

David played for the Huskers from 2010-11 after 2 years at Fort Scott Community College. In 2010, David’s 1st season for the Huskers, he set the Nebraska single-season tackles record with 152. David earned All-Big 12 honors for the record-breaking season.

The Buccaneers are battling the Saints on Monday Night Football. With a win, the Bucs would improve to 6-6 on the year and maintain control of the NFC South.
