Former Nebraska stars Rex Burkhead and Ameer Abdullah will kick off the NFL’s “My Cause, My Cleats” campaign this Sunday by supporting someone close to their hearts.
On Thursday, the Team Jack Foundation tweeted out that Burkhead and Abdullah will both be wearing Team Jack cleats this weekend to bring awareness to pediatric brain cancer.
Burkhead’s cleats have images of a 6-year-old Jack Hoffman — when the two first met — as well as a current image of Hoffman. Abdullah’s cleats have the wording “Team Jack” and an image of the foundation’s logo.
In addition to the announcement, the Team Jack Foundation provided images of both cleats.

The “DJ” on Abdullah’s shoes pay tribute to a boy Donovan James Miles Jr., who met Abdullah at the age of two. Miles passed away from brain cancer in September 2014.
Hoffman famously ran for a long touchdown in 2013 during Nebraska’s spring game. It was regarded as one of the best moments in all of sports that year.

The cleats were designed by Joe V Designs, according to the Team Jack Foundation’s website, where you can read more on the foundation and the efforts of the two former Huskers.
Burkhead is currently a member of the New England Patriots while Abdullah suits up for the Detroit Lions.
