Luke Reimer reflects on earning 2nd Blackshirt at Nebraska
Luke Reimer got the 2nd Blackshirt of his career on Wednesday. It is an honor that he is going cherish for a long time.
Reimer will be a junior this season, and is coming off of a breakout 2021 campaign. He had 108 total tackles, 6 tackles for loss, and 1 sack. The Huskers LB started in all 12 games last year, and should do the same in 2022.
He’s planing on hanging up his Blackshirt in his basement once he retires from football.
“It’s a really cool experience,” said Reimer. “It’s an honor, it’s a privilege. It’s the highest honor for the defense you can get. It means a lot to me, it was my second one, it’s something that you just keep forever. It’s gonna go hang up in my basement when I’m done and retired.”
Some accolades that Reimer has received so far are a 2021 Honorable All-B1G mention and a 2021 Nebraska Linebacker of the Year award.
