Malachi Coleman was once the top prospect out of Nebraska and the headlining piece of Matt Rhule’s 2023 recruiting class. Now, Coleman is confirming his intentions to enter the transfer portal.
On Monday, Rhule revealed at his Monday presser that Coleman had confirmed his plans behind the scenes. After playing extensively as a true freshman, Coleman has been redshirting this season and thanked Nebraska fans in a note shared on social media.
“To the fans, thank you for making my time here unforgettable and welcoming me with open arms,” Coleman wrote on social media.
“With that being said, after careful consideration, prayer and reflection on my goals and future, I have made the difficult decision to enter the transfer portal. This decision was not taken lightly, and while it’s bittersweet, I believe this decision will allow me to reach new heights and pursue my goals with renewed purpose.”
