Marcus Washington ended his time with the Huskers on Saturday as he declared for the 2024 NFL Draft.

Washington’s career began with Texas. After 3 seasons with the Longhorns, he decided to transfer and played his 1st season for the Huskers in 2022. Washington had a career high with 471 yards receiving last year. Washington played in 6 games for Nebraska this season before suffering a season-ending injury against Illinois. He played in 18 games with Nebraska.

Here’s what Washington had to say:

“First I want to thank God for blessing me with this opportunity. Without HIM I am nothing. Thank you to all my family, friends, teammates, coaches, and everyone else who’s been with me through this journey,” said Washington. “I couldn’t have done this without you guys, and you all are very appreciated. Husker Nation, I want to thank you guys for welcoming a kid from St. Louis in with open arms. Easily the best fans in CFB. I will remember every moment. With that being said I’m officially declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft.”

Matt Rhule came very close to snapping Nebraska’s bowl drought in year 1. The Huskers finished 5-7 on the year after dropping their last 4 games and came up short. Rhule looks to build on what he achieved in 2023 with 2024 looming.
